The duties and responsibilities of the RPO concerning Research, publication and consultancy are:

Research

• Consult and assist the research and community Service Vise president on matters related to research and publication
• Monitor the activities of research institutes and activities of the graduate program
• Ensure that project approved for funding are registered and reported to the research committee at its meeting
• Inform the relevant University bodies about the registration of new project
• Check whether the budget requested for research projects in reasonable and funds are available
• Check that there are no duplication among projects submitted by various faculties and research institutes
• Ensure a smooth project transfer in case of principal investigator is leaving
• Dissemination and popularization of research outputs in consultation with the Research directorate, Editor-in-chief and public and external relation office
• Compile and publish brochure containing areas in which the University can offer effective consultancy services for distribution through the office of the external relations
• Supervise the activities of the offices accountable to it

Publication

• Help the dissemination of research result in the form of research highlights of the university
• Establish an editorial board for publications of the university
• Facilitate the preparation of teaching materials and text books
• Facilitate the publication of proceedings of seminars and workshops, journals, newsletters, reports, etc.

Consultancy

• Advertise the capacity of the university in doing consultancy in terms of the available academic staff members and infrastructure
• Check that the amount of time spent on consultancy work does not seriously affect the academic objective and integrity of the university
• Compile and publish brochure containing areas in which the University can offer effective consultancy services for distribution through the office of the external relations
• Assess the performance of consultancy service of each Faculty, Research insatiate, school and college using performance indicators
• Prepare Memorandum of understanding between the University and organizations in consultation with the relevant bodies
• Advice faculties and departments in formulating consultancy contract agreement with clients
